Needle felted squirrel

I finished my little red squirrel last night. Her name is chestnut (because of her colouring). She is needle felted with a blend of soft merino and corriedale wools with wire inside her tiny toes and the centre of her beautiful fluffy tail so it can bend. She even has a felted acorn which she looks to be enjoying! She is quite small as you can see from the pic of me holding her but lots of detail and of course fit to be loved and full of character.. I so want to get some pictures of her in trees in the park but it is cold windy and raining out so an indoor setting will have to do for now. I hope you like her… I will be adding a tutorial this weekend of how to attach head and limbs with chestnut as my demo. 🙂

    • Thank you Kathy. This weekend I will post about how to join head and limbs and will also be showing how I made the fingers and toes in the future too, so not all of how I made her but some of it.

  4. Chestnut is beautiful! I love her fluffy tail and her eyes are so expressive! In the last picture she almost looks real. You are so talented! I can only imagine the satisfaction you get from crafting these one of a kind creatures. Thank you so much for sharing them with us!

    • Thank you so much for such lovely comments. I really do enjoy making each new animal especially as the facial features come together. I am really pleased with how she turned out. Her tail was challenging but I think it looks ok 🙂
